Founded in 2012, we focus on property development opportunities in and around greater London
We started as a family property investment business, but have quickly grown to work with other leading developers and attract our own investors. Over the years Qaratas has worked on a wide variety of project types, including semi-commercial units, residential units, buy-to-let and house in multiple occupation (HMO).
The defining feature of all our projects include an extensive scenario analysis. At the very least, each project will have a plan A and B depending on the level of risk involved however, some projects may have a plan E.
The key is that all our plans reflect an appropriate return for amount of risk involved. Our plans are underpinned by proper due diligence, attention to detail, quality of workmanship and a smooth handover.
Timur Ashimov
Timur studied a Masters degree in Financial Analysis and Fund Management at Exeter University in 2008. He started trading ETFs and bonds and in September 2010 he became a high frequency trader at a boutique firm in the City.
Timur continued trading on his own account and did very well, but wanted a new challenge. Coincidentally that was around the time Timur's family from Kazakhstan decided to invest some family funds into property in London, beginning a property adventure.
Alondside a wide range of sports, Timur's hobbies have included various martial arts, summarised in 4 gold and 4 silver medals in British open competition at Jiu-Jitsu, and a silver in International open in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ).
Alina Popan
Originally from Transylvania, Alina has just returned from Africa where she undertook voluntary work, teaching English and helping kids. Alina had previously been working in Events for about 4 years in London. Based in Central London, she studied Journalism in Romania and worked as a Press officer for FC UNIVERSITATEA CLUJ FOOTBALL TEAM, back home.
She loves all sports and particularly loves watching football games. If she’s got some time off, she loves travelling.
Alina is delighted to be joining the Qaratas team and looking forward to a long future in Property development.
